CYO PLAYOFFS
For Conference sports, CYO hosts playoffs for qualifying teams based on the CYO AQ Table. The playoffs are filled out with additional Wild Card/At-Large) teams that have a .500 record or better, but that did not otherwise qualify.
CYO introduced a multi divisional format several years ago, moving away from a one bracket system. This allows for smaller schools to compete against similarly sized and/or competitive schools.
For Fall (Girls Volleyball/Flag Football) and Winter (Girls/Boys Basketball) Conference sports, CYO offers four playoff divisions.
For Spring Conference sports, CYO offers a three division playoff structure as less schools participate in Spring offerings, (Girls & Boys Soccer, Softball and Boys Volleyball).
CYO ranks teams based on their W/L record. CYO also reviews non-conference games to help determine conference strength and reviews any tournaments that occur.
Conference Champions will generally be placed in the Open and Gold divisions only. Although exceptions may occur.
Open Division: 1-16 ranked teams (May be less due to amount of playoff eligible teams)
Gold Division: 17-32 ranked teams (May be less due to amount of playoff eligible teams)
Navy Division: 33-64 ranked teams (East, West, South Regions)
Silver Division: 33-64 ranked teams (East, SFV, North Regions)
